SPCA Open House

Stop in to see animals up for adoption and hear their unique story. The Williams Lake & District Community Animal Centre will be open from noon to 3 p.m.

Seniors’ annual Spring Clothing & Garage Sale

In the lower level of the Seniors Activity Centre at 176 North Fourth Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. come and find gently used men’s and women’s clothing along with many other garage sale items.

Williams Lake Community Band spring concert. Live musical concert featuring a range of instruments. St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 549 Carson Dr. at 7 p.m. The band will play a variety of pieces including movie pieces from Rocky and Disney shows, a new arrangement of Loch Lomond, pieces from two Dutch composers and two pieces by Robert Buckley, a British Columbia composer and arranger

Naomi Kavka in concert - with special guests High Tensions

Another Audio Affairs production by the Community Arts Council of Williams Lake and Arts on the Fly. The show will feature some live music. Tickets available at the Guitar Seller and The Open Book $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m., show to start at 7:30 p.m. at the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Centre.

Scout Island Nature Centre. Annual yard and plant sale fundraiser event.

Sale runs 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and shop for plants, books, sports equipment, and other assorted treasures.

Cariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddle Society show A Fiddle Ticket to Canada at the Gibraltar Room May 4 at 7 p.m. and May 5 at 3 p.m., tickets are $25 for adults, $18 for youth and available at The Open Book and on Eventbrite.

May 8 & 9

Williams Lake Job Fair.

Coordinated by Supporting Aboriginal Growth & Empowerment (S.A.G.E) Trainers and sponsored by the Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training and Employmeny Centre (CCATEC), the two-day Williams Lake Job Fair will take place at Rink 2 Cariboo Memorial Complex.

The Horsefly 10km Fun Run takes place Saturday, May 11. Entry forms can be picked up and dropped off at Clarkes General Store in Horsefly and Remax in Williams Lake. Entries received before April 15 will included a T-shirt and your name put towards a prize draw. Registration on the day of the run is at 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Horsefly School rink, run starts at 11 a.m. from the Moffat Falls and will continue down the 108 Mile Road to the Horsefly rink. Entry forms can be sent to you by contacting Lonnie Rolph at lprolph@xplorenet.ca or 250-620-3512.

Quintet Plus will join up with Eclectica from 100 Mile for a Choir Concert on Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, 1000 Huckvale Pl. Come join us. Admission is by donation to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
