The Williams Lake Fire Department hosted an open house Sunday at its detachment where lots of fun was to be had.
Children and families had the chance to saddle up in the driver’s seat of an ambulance, fire truck or even a police car, while lots of fun games were on hand including the chance to shoot a fire hose, climb through obstacle courses and throw sponge balls at unsuspecting firefighters.
Face painting was also a hit at several places throughout the venue on South Lakeside Drive.
Later on in the afternoon, guests were treated to a firefighters challenge where local firefighters tested their mettle in an obstacle course challenge.
The event was free of charge and well attended by the community.
