While it may be smoking hot outside today, the heat isn’t stopping the enthusiasm of local 4-H members in Williams Lake at their district petting zoo and fun fair underway at the Save-On-Foods parking lot.

B.C. 4-H ambassadors Paige Sepkowski and Sky Forcier, who are greeting visitors at the gate along with Paige’s goat Ella, said the event is raising funds to build a new wash house at the BC Livestock Producers Co-operative stockyards in Williams Lake.

The new washstand will be used during the upcoming annual 4-H Show and Sale taking place later this summer.

From face-painting, to hit the cans or a bean bag toss to meeting some of the members’ animals up close, the event is a great opportunity for the community to show its support.

The event runs today until 2 p.m.
