Women with Heart luncheon honours Lynnette Cobb

The Women’s Contact Society will honour Lynnette Cobb with their 2016 Women With Heart Award during a special luncheon at the Seniors’ Activity Centre on Sunday, April 24 starting at 11:30 a.m.

Tickets are $10 and are available in advance at the Women’s Contact Society at 51A Fourth Ave. South or by calling 250-392-4118 for more information.

“Lynnette has great compassion for people and her desire to help people is evident through the 48,711 volunteer hours over more than 21 years with the Canadian Mental Health Association — Cariboo Chilcotin Branch,” said Janice Breck in her letter nominating Cobb for the award.

Cobb volunteers with CMHA’s crisis line, crisis line training program and face-to-face counselling program. She has also volunteered more than 3,000 hours with the RCMP Victim Services program and was an instrumental part of having Baker Manor, a supportive housing facility for people with disabilities, established in the city.
